5 Golden Rules of Effective Academic Research

  • Manage your Time. You cannot do any work if you struggle to manage time effectively. So, take your time out and have a clear mind when are about to go for it. You should have stress less mind, preferably the best time to sit for is in the morning.
  • Have a Problem Statement with you. Good research will basically solve an existing problem and may further create a plethora of opportunities in creating more problems than solving one. You can move ahead without having a problem statement, but that won’t help much in the research community.
  • Plan your work. Planning does not mean just to structure your writings in a format, but a build a proper approach to the Problem Statement you made up in your mind. Planning your work properly can save you from truncating the findings later and can drastically save your time.
  • Do background study of your Problem Statement, from where it came and the cause of the problem. Understanding the problem is an essential step in solving it. If you do a study you can gain valuable insights and other works in a particular domain which can give you many ideas to work with.
  • Validate and Evaluate your study and findings. Remember once you publish them, it will be very difficult for you to change or modify it. Without proper validation and supportive statements your research is just a piece of junk in the community and will not help anyone in the long run.

If you follow these 5 Golden Rules you are good to go with your approach.

Experiments and Analysis are your personal findings and you should consider them as well. Baseless assumptions and conclusions should be avoided as well.

Conclusion

Findings and results take time and effort. There is no short-cut. Follow all these steps effectively and you can find yourself in a much better position.
